世界最大級の非公開企業ヴァージンのリチャード・ブランソンによる半自伝。ものすごい分厚さなので積読していたのですが、一度手をつけ始めたら、おもしろくて一気に読んでしまいました。

雑誌スチューデントから始まって、レコード店（ヴァージン・メガストアの原型）、レーベル（ヴァージン・ミュージック）、航空会社（ヴァージン・アトランティック）などなど、どんどん作っていきます。買収はほとんどせずに、文字通り「起業」するのがブランソン流らしく、ものすごいバイタリティで突っ走って、何度も危機を向かえながらも、常に乗り越えていくのがすごいです。

起業家にもいろいろなスタイルがあると思うのですが、とにかく桁違いのスケールをもった起業家であることは間違いないと思います。誰でもおもしろいと思うのですが、特に起業家が読むとたくさん感ずるところがあるかなと思います。

この本では、1993年までしか語られておらず、その後も鉄道、電力、飲料（コーラ）、宇宙旅行などに進出しているらしい。ぜひまた自伝の続きを書いていただきたいところです。

はじめまして、いつもエントリー楽しく見させて頂いておりますー。ボクも大好きな本だったのでコメントさせてもらいましたーサラリーマン時代に読んで結構影響受けましたー。なんというか、ブランソンとジョブズを見ると運命論者になりますよね(笑)

確かにジョブズも型破りな起業家ですね。

個人的には、ジョブズの人をゴミのように扱うところとかは好きではないんですよね。今はだいぶ丸まったのかもしれませんが。。
