著者は「Bバージン」などの売れっ子漫画家であり映画「ゼブラーマン」などにも関わっている多彩な人物。才能というのは、「どこにも属せない感覚」すなわち非属のうちにこそある、というのがこの本の趣旨です。僕もつよく非属を感じる人間なので、非常に納得感がありました。そして、今の自分は非属を大切にしているだろうかと思いながら読みました。

会社の経営者というのはある意味で常識を求められる存在でもあり、僕も日々失敗しながら、いろいろなことを勉強しながらなんとかやっているわけですが、そうして常識的な物事の考え方を身につければつけるほど、自分のエッジな部分が失われているような気がするのも事実です。その折り合いをどうつけて行くのかは、ここ数年の大きなテーマでもあり、こういった本を読むと普段忘れ去られていた感覚を刺激されます。恐らく結論はないので、いろいろなものを忘れないようにしながら、やっていくしかないのでしょうけども。

気になったのは、「バカの壁」を誤読しているところと、インターネットはダメと頭ごなしに否定しているとこでしょうか。でもまぁ人と同じ考え方をしていれば、何も得られないのも事実。

・斬新な発想や創造性が決定的にものを言ういまの時代において、疑問を持たず、自分でものを考えず、受験だけに努力しろと言うのは、開国から幕府滅亡までの激動の時代に、「藩で出世するために刀を振りまわせ」と言うのと同じことだろう。
・ムラの掟と場の空気を最優先し、とりあえず無難に生きた人間が歴史を変えることなどあり得ない。

・僕の事務所では絶対に多数決をしない。なぜなら一見、公平なやり方に見えても、多数決をすれば多数派が勝つに決まっているからだ。
・メスの遺伝子ははるかに優秀で、何が人間にとっての価値かということを見抜いてしまう。（中略）（『Bバージン』について）女性が何か特別なものにのめり込んでいる男性に惹かれるものだと感づいていたからこそ、そのように描いたのだ。
・「興味ない」の生き方は、楽しみのほうも圧倒的に少なくなってしまう。（中略）いつも「何かおもしろいことないかなあ」と言ってくる僕の友人たちはたいてい新しい旅をしない。
・自分の感覚で決めるのは大いに結構なのだが、自分が常に正しいかどうかは分からないという自覚だけは必要だ。
