「麻雀放浪記」などの阿佐田哲也著。積み込みの仕方、思った通りの数を出すサイコロの振り方、すり替え、コンビ技、握り込み、死角の使い方など、あらゆる麻雀の裏技を詳細に解説してあります。

先日、ふらりと麻雀をやりたくなったので、10人くらい土曜の昼間に雀荘に集まってやったのですが、やっぱり楽しいわけです（まぁ勝ったというのもあると思いますけど、、）。でも、そんな素人からすると、ここまでの技をよく思いつくなぁというのが本音。麻雀独特の配牌やドラの決まり方などから逆算して積み込む技など完全に芸術の域に達しています。

ギャンブラーというと、なんとかして楽して儲けようとしているチンピラという感じですが、麻雀のプロ（阿佐田哲也的には玄人（ばいにん））は、毎日何時間もトレーニングをしたり、嫌われないように努めて明るくしたりしていて、その情熱は尋常ではありません。

僕は世界のどこに行ってもカジノがあれば必ず行くのですが、確かにあのサイクルの速い、ひりひりとする非日常的な感覚は非常におもしろいと思ってます。もちろんビジネスでもそういったシーンはあって、ビジネスの方がうまくいった時の喜びは圧倒的に大きいと思います。それは金銭的な大きさもありますが、人に役に立っているというのが大きいのではないでしょうか。でも、その頻度は非常に少ない。ギャンブルは、数秒から数分で浮き沈みを経験できるのが特徴だと思います。

とはいえ、あくまで遊び。日本ではパチンコを年に数回やるくらいで、競馬も宝くじもやらないですけどね。でも、こういう賭け事に全身全霊で挑む話は非常におもしろいです。麻雀好きにはたまらない本です。

・全部裏返しにしておいて、模牌だけで積む。"ロッケン"といって、小指と親指の間に六枚の牌をはさむ。六枚という数がどの積み込みにも重要な数なのである。いちいち数えているようではおそくなるから、すっと六枚はさめるように、指にその感覚を教えこまなければならない。すると、不自然な手の動きをずいぶんとなくすことができるのである。こうして数時間、汗を流す。このトレーニングは玄人ならば1日も欠かせない。この点に関してはみな勤勉である。
・素人はどうか。ふだんは、ふとっ腹のように見える人でも、賭という状況のなかでは、陰険になり、こまかく文句をいいはじめる。さらに喜怒哀楽をはっきり表情に出す。極度の緊張感が、自分をかくせなくなる。
