MacBook Airを無線LAN経由でバックアップする

MacBook Airネタが続いて恐縮です。。

なぜかAirには、Backup3は入ってなくて、Time Machineしかないようです（もしかしたらBackup3は.Mac利用者専用のサービスなのかも）。これはTime Machineで十分だろうということなのかもしれませんが、以前調べた際には、

・Time Machineは自動バックアップだが、自動的にバックアップしている途中にうっかりネットワークを切ったりするとHDDに深刻なダメージを与えることがある（無線LANだから寸断はかなりの頻度で起こりうる）
・HDD暗号化のFileVaultを使っていると暗号化されたファイル「SparseImage」がバックアップされてしまい、Time Machineのウリであるファイルを遡ることができない。

という問題がありましたが、これらは解消されたのでしょうか？　ちょっと怖くてTime Machineは使えないので、今まで通りAirMac Extremeに繋いだ外付けHDDに、毎週Backup3でバックアップすることにしました。といっても、無線LAN経由なので、寝る前にポチっとクリックするだけなのでラクチンです。

ちなみに、Backup3は、.Macのウェブからダウンロードできました（すごく分かりづらいですが、リンクはこれです）。.Macの有料ユーザーじゃないとダウンロードできないっぽいです。トライアルで会員になればダウンロードはできるかもしれません。
